Important Reminder: Dog Restraint Regulations for the Safety of Our Community

Dear Shrewsbury Residents,

As summer approaches and our community becomes more active with outdoor activities, we would like to remind you of the importance of ensuring that all dogs are properly restrained at all times. This is particularly crucial for the safety of children attending summer camps and participating in various outdoor events.

We would like to remind everyone of the regulations stipulated in Section 230.080 of the Shrewsbury Municipal Code regarding dogs running at large.

If you see a loose dog, please contact the Shrewsbury Police Department's non-emergency line at 314-647-5656. Our police department is equipped with a chip reader to identify dog owners swiftly. If the owners cannot be contacted, the dogs will be taken to APA Brentwood.

Your cooperation is crucial in maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone in Shrewsbury. Thank you for your attention to this important matter.

Best regards,

City of Shrewsbury
