The Fitness Center at the Shrewsbury City Center includes a variety of cardio and weight training equipment and is available for use by passholders or for a daily admission fee.

Tai ChiTai Chi

True health and wellness comes from integrating the whole person–body, mind, and spirit. The slow, dance-like speed of Tai Chi creates balance, flexibility, and calmness. Class includes warm-ups that detoxify the body, postures that stimulate every gland and organ, and movements that loosen up every joint in the body.

Grandmaster Han’s Martial Arts / Youn Wha Ryu Taekwondo
Anyone can train in the Youn Wha Ryu system. We offer traditional martial arts with a modern approach to fitness and training. Whether for fun, fitness or self-defense, you will find Youn Wha Ryu a challenging and rewarding experience! Taught in a family atmosphere, belt promotion available. Ages: 5 - Adult (all minors must have a parent/guardian present for the entire class). Tuition: $30/month or $5/class drop-in per person.

Pickleball at Brinkop Park
When the weather permits, a Pickleball net will be set up at Brinkop Park for open play. The court will be available every day of the week and on weekends! The net will remain up until the weather turns consistently cold, so feel free to stop by and play with your family and friends.

West-East Yoga Teachers TrainingWest East Yoga

We are excited to announce that we are now offering the Yoga Teachers Training Program in partnership with the oldest Yoga School in Missouri and Mid-West: West-East Yoga School. This program teaches techniques based on science, as well as ancient and modern methodology to reach all levels of yoga practice. Students will learn solid bases in Yoga to bring to your life and yoga practice to the next level. Since 1997, The West-East Yoga School has been training students to become teachers and gain wonderful knowledge to bring deeper perspective to both their own practice and to their students. 200 Hour and 300 Hour Training Programs Available.

 Matter of Balance


As the No. 1 cause of injuries and death from injury, falls threaten the independence of older adults and often prove costly, as well. The Matter of Balance program helps adults 50 years old and up realize that falls, and the fear of falling, are controllable. This 8-week program provides information on ways to change your environment to limit risk factors that contribute to falling, and will help you find strength and balance exercises to reduce your chances of falling. Improved flexibility and range of motion with stretches and light movements introduced in the third class. Participants are asked to attend at least 5 out of 8 days during the session. Presented by University of Missouri-Extension.

Kick the Achiness of ArthritisArthritis

Arthritis is one of the most common diagnoses, encompassing at least 200,000 new cases a year. This course is designed to help you learn the best ways to manage arthritis with exercise. A trained physical therapist will direct you through minimal-load exercises and activities to maximize your function and minimize your pain! This course will be directed towards the lower body.
